About

the artist

Michaela Haider (*1996, Austria) has been working with the medium of photography for over a decade. In her work, she uses digital techniques to abstract the reality of photographic elements and combines them into a visual composition. In doing so, she develops surreal imagery that explores existential questions and investigates the polarities between material and digital, the real and the surreal. These polarities are not presented as opposites, but rather as interwoven layers of human experience. Her work opens a space where individual perception merges with collective, timeless imaginations.

Michaela Haider's works have been exhibited in Austria, Germany, Spain, and Finland, among other countries. The artist lives and works in Berlin.
